Cafe Hesp is right there on the wide Amstel riverbank. It can hardly be beat for location.
It has nice outdoor setting that gets loads of sun late into the afternoon or evening. Usually with many groups of people enjoying a drink, an outdoor BBQ or even a swim. Their interior provides the ultimate Amsterdam “dark bar” experience. It has a great atmosphere and its always busy.
I never ate there, but they have a great variety of beers and its great place to moor your boat, while having a private party onboard.
Their staff is always cool while shipping their orders as they can, as its usually very busy, either inside or in their wind stopper covered terrace.
The most noteworthy thing?
Their ample space to dock. We love it. Specially in summer, where tons of boats go to moor there in the afternoon. That’s where the party happens.

Captain’s delight: any beer from the tap.
Best time to drop by: in the afternoon, to enjoy the sunset and continue night cruising afterwards.
Docking facilities: very ample. Unbeatable.
